Winery
Located in the heart of the Rutherford bench, a small family-owned Napa Valley winery devoted to producing great wines for great causes. Farmed organically and solar powered, wines are consistently rated among the top wines in each vintage.
Vintage
The 2005 vintage provided a cool and long growing season which allowed Cabernet Sauvignon to maintain its bright acidity while providing ample hang time for flavor and tannin development.
Tasting Notes
This complex wine begins with vibrant aromas of red cherry and strawberry followed by a bouquet of cedar, rosemary and green tea completed by earthy elements such as flint and dried shells. As the wine opens up, hints of caramel and sweet vanilla are revealed. Full-bodied, this wine offers up youthful tannins of great quality. A judicious addition of Cabernet Franc heightens the backbone of tannins while enriching the mid palate mouth feel. The finish lingers with red cherry and strawberry with great length. The mouth feel is round and creamy with smooth tannins, leading to a long finish. Already showing beautifully, this wine will continue to open and gain complexity in the bottle for years to come.
